Understanding Temperature vs Feels Like

When you see 29°C on your weather app but it says it feels like 34°C, you may wonder why. This is because of the heat index, that is accumulative of temperature and humidity and wind speed.

Sweat does not evaporate because of high humidity, making our body feel hotter. On the other hand, strong winds can make the air feel cooler. This is why “feels like” is often a better reflection of comfort than the raw temperature measurement.

With Weather Pulse Now, you can always check both values and plan your day accordingly.

🌡️ Temperature & Feels Like Range / Condition Description
Normal Temperature
Tropical Climates 25 – 35°C Common in equatorial regions; hot and humid
Temperate Climates 10 – 25°C Mild to warm; comfortable weather range
Feels Like (Heat Index / Wind Chill)
Moderate Conditions Close to actual temperature When humidity and wind are at normal levels
Hot & Humid +3 to +7°C hotter Humidity prevents sweat evaporation, making it feel warmer
Cold & Windy –5 to –15°C colder Wind chill lowers perceived temperature, increasing cold stress
